Our Story

Hi, we’re Crysta Brown and Christopher Thomas — the people (and couple) behind For Sale Farms. We’re a small, growing breeding and training program in Northern Ireland focused on raising and developing high-quality AQHA and APHA stock horses with strong conformation, versatile minds, and good foundations.

Crysta is originally from the Bay Area in California, where she started riding as a little kid and never really stopped. Like most horse girls with big dreams and no budget, she started out cleaning stalls to pay for lessons and eventually worked her way into assistant training jobs. In 2020, during COVID, she was furloughed from her job with horses at Disneyland and took a chance helping out at Premier Performance Horses in Southern California. That’s where she took her training of all-around and ranch horses to the next level.

A couple years later, she met Chris, a Northern Irish guy working a car event in Napa. One thing led to another (thanks, Ryanair), and they decided to start a life together in Northern Ireland. That’s when For Sale Farms really started to take shape.

Together, we’ve combined our backgrounds — Crysta’s experience with stock horses and Chris’s passion for business — to create something we’re really proud of. For Sale Farms is all about producing sound, correct, and trainable horses for ranch and all-around events, and helping grow the stock horse scene here in the UK and Ireland.

We believe in horses with good minds, solid bodies, and a little personality — the kind of horses you want to show and hang out with. Our mares, Bubbles and Moon, are the foundation of our program and a big part of our daily life (and let’s be honest, our personalities).
